Minnesota Vikings vs Seattle Seahawks Prediction and Reviews
The last time the Minnesota Vikings met the Seattle Seahawks, they lost 10-9 at home in frigid conditions January 10 when kicker Blair Walsh missed a potential game-winning 27-yard field goal with 22 seconds left.
A lot less will be on the line Thursday night in Seattle when the Seahawks host the Vikings as three-point home favorites at sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark.
Minnesota closed as a 4.5-point home underdog in the last meeting and still covered the spread, although the losing result still stung. Seattle held running back Adrian Peterson to 45 yards on 23 carries, and he sat out the team’s preseason opener against the Cincinnati Bengals last Friday with a sore hamstring.
In preseason Week 1, the Vikings beat the Bengals 17-16 in a pick ’em road game behind a sharp performance from starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who completed six of his seven passes for 92 yards with one touchdown.
The Seahawks also won their preseason opener 17-16 over the Kansas City Chiefs, with rookie quarterback Trevone Boykin shining in relief of starter Russell Wilson. The former TCU star Boykin completed 16 of his 26 passes for 188 yards with one touchdown after Wilson went 3-of-6 for 34 yards with no touchdowns and one interception.
Seattle was a 3.5-point road underdog and extended its preseason winning streak to three games with the victory. The team had lost its previous three exhibition games before that.
Minnesota has been an outstanding preseason team under head coach Mike Zimmer, winning nine of 10 straight up and going 8-2 against the spread during that stretch, according to the Odds Shark database.
The lone loss took place in last year’s preseason finale when the Tennessee Titans won 24-17 as three-point home favorites.

The under is also trending for the Vikings in the preseason, going 5-2-1 in their last eight games. The Seahawks have seen a similar pattern lately, with the total going under in three of four following a 3-1 run to the over.
Seattle has won the past four meetings with Minnesota overall straight up, going 3-1 against the spread. The over is 3-1 in those games. The Vikings won the previous two preseason matchups in 2010 and 2011 straight up and against the spread.
